• Dr.V.Thanushuya Sowmya completed her undergraduate training with gold medals in Microbiology, Surgery, and Paediatrics alongside receiving many other medals in various other subjects as well. She also received the best outstanding woman student of her batch award – The Helen Doak prize.
• She further went on to pursue her Diploma in Family Medicine in the Apollo Hospital, a course recognized by the prestigious Royal College of General Practitioners, UK.
• Later, because of her keen interest in the field of diabetology, she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes with distinction from the renowned University of South Wales, UK. She also widened her exposure in the field by doing a clinical attachment in the Department of Endocrinology (specific to diabetes), York NHS trust Hospital, UK.
• Her foremost goal is to educate people with diabetes on self-care and lifestyle modifications so that they can prevent or delay the onset of diabetes-related complications and create awareness among the general public about how they can prevent diabetes through their own efforts.
